Arc: The Nightmare Apartments

As they were driving Night had to wonder what a Purgatory was? So what is a Purgatory? And what is this Silent Hill? Erick looked at her in the back seat via the mirror and sighed. Purgatories are a bit hard to explain. Mostly because we know so little about them. They at the core seem to be a fusion of our world Gaia and the Otherworld. The Purgatory can change on a whim and sometimes can be a reflection of sorts of some of the people in them. Also for some reason they tend to spawn mad demons or demons that just seem to run on instincts like monsters. Sometimes specters wraiths and such crop up as well. Each one can be different. There have been records that show that sometimes a powerful demon or angel can cause a temporary one, or a powerful monster or human. Silent Hill is a prime example. That Purgatory started because a cult that worshiped powerful demons and angels wanted to bring the town closer to there so called gods. They prepared many rituals, set up many circles. This is were it started, and then they tried to sacrifice a child. That pulled the rest of the town into one permanent man made Purgatory. MIRA responded of course noticing a huge shift like that. We sent in an investigation team. We lost contact with them as soon as they entered. No one knows for sure what happened but only one survived. That one agent is now the current American branch director. Zero was promoted after wards and since we have kept an eye on Silent Hill and any other purgatories that crop up. We have gotten better at resolving the incidents quickly but a few recent ones like the incident mentioned earlier have the same readings as Silent Hill. Zero thinks the town may be trying to expand.Zero seems to see it as some kind of living entity which if it is. Well it is a scary way of viewing it. Night nodded taking in every word. Now what did Zero mean when saying that Ezezal's team was unable to enter? Tomoe answered this one. Well that is a bit hard as well. But a basically a Purgatory as a result of two worlds converging causes a form of double space. What seems like the normal space and the purgatory. One can be were the Purgatory is but not in it. Not everyone can always enter, however I hear escape is harder than entry. Night nodded once more. She gave a small smile thinking to herself how fun this would all be. Possible danger a sense of adventure was all throughout this. The vampire could not wait for this to get started.


The car pulled up to the building. Night had to admit surprise since it was not surrounded by cop cars. Erick answered though this unspoked question. No need to draw unwanted attention. Ezezal's team will watch the area. We will try to enter. Night nodded as they got out bouncing to her feet in excitement. She watched as they approached the apartments and noted the air around it seemed thick. Like a miasma permeated it or something. She noticed Tomoe's ears go down a bit and noticed Ran leaning against a wall by the front door smoking looking casual. The team entered the front doors and Night felt a sense of vertigo the echo communicator emitted a loud burst of static that filled her ears and the walls that had seemed white became rust red. Also she noticed that Tomoe and Erick had vanished and she was standing in the entrance hall alone. The air was a lot thicker inside than it was outside and strange groans and moans could be heard on occasion. Just then Night heard Erick in her ears but it sounded like his voice was coming from a static radio. Night are you there? Agent Tepes please respond were did you go? Night blinked a bit and realized it must be the strange tech the echo communicator. She thought about contacts and pulled up Erick and started talking. Helloooooo. This thing on? Well if it is were did you and Tomoe go? Erick answered sounding a bit relieved. Me and Tomoe are in the entrance hall. You vanished as soon as you entered. My guess is your in the purgatory. This is good and bad. good we could get an agent in. Bad that only one got in. Your not a Lieutenant. You are not meant to take jobs on solo. However I also see little choice in this situation as Purgatories are finicky. So go in explore and see if you can resolve the cause. The rest of us will remain on stand by, stay in touch. Good luck Agent Tepes. The communication cut out and Night smiled. She had no issue working on her own. Meant she did not have to take orders from angel boy at least. She noted that the rust colored floor felt a bit spongy under her bare feet. The vampire shrugged though and set off.

Sakrol walked a long distance until he found the car the agents were using, the car was empty but Sakrol saw the angel and the fox-demon inside the apartment through a window but for some reason he didn´t see the vampire girl at all. Sakrol noticed other people around the area, he thought they were probably agents too. He made sure none of the others saw him sneak into the building, the air around the place felt strange but it only made Sakrol even more curious. As Sakrol walked slowly into the apartment everything suddenly changed around him, the apartment now looked like something that was ripped straight from a nightmare. Well this is interesting, I wonder if this is what those agents were talking about. Never seen anything like this... Sakrol looked around and investigated his surroundings, he thought that the place looked quite interesting but also weird. This place is kinda creepy, I wonder what makes all those sounds that echo around here... Sakrol then started walking forward, he tried to open a few doors to see whats inside of them but sadly they were locked.

Sakrol then decided to go and investigate further, he was also hoping he could find the agents and ask them what this is all about.

Nyx walked through the first floor of the apartment. She knew not what she was truly looking for and was just hoping to stumble upon something at the moment. The vampire noted that the rust coloring faded at time as if not consistent. From the floors to the walls this seemed to persist. The air of the entire building reeked of death. She wondered if this was what the so called town of Silent hill was like? The very place also had an almost palpable air of fear. Like thick cloying mist that just seemed to latch onto ones form and never let go She could not help but chuckle at her own thoughts shaking her head. Just then she heard the flapping of wings. She turned the corner and saw a swarm of some kind of bat? They had no feet and instead of a mouth had a grey beak. The swarm was made up of about five. They hovered in the air and then turned to face her there eyes gleeming red. She smiled showing her fangs. So you want to play huh? As she said this her dark magic activated and a scythe of darkness formed in her hands. well then let us play. She raised her left hand a dark aura of yokai surrounding her. However the bat things moved first darting at her. However they seemed slow to her eyes. She smiled as she dodged each one pivoting on the balls of her bare feet and she used her dark tendril spell. Two tendrils of darkness zipped out and sliced two of the bats in half. Night watched as they dissolved into a rust like substance. She then had the tendrils swivel towards the third and the fourth. The fourth spun out of the way however it crashed to the floor. The third had it's wing lopped off and Night quickly had the tendril come back to finish the weak demon off. Her spell dissolved and she moved bringing her scythe overhead and slicing the one in mid air clean in half this one dissolving as well. She then spun the dark scythe and impaled the blade into the last one recovering on the floor. Night was breathing lightly please by how the battle had gone. The fact they had seemed so slow and she could even predict a bit of there movements within a range of her was a good sign. Soon she should be able to access her true form again. It was only a matter of time.

OOC note Sakrol you do not have the ability of detection yet. You need Eye of the mind, whether for aura or yokai or prana signatures sensing and even then it is limited how it says in the ability description.

Sakrol walked in a long red hallway with old looking doors on the walls. Sakrol stopped and took a closer look at the walls, he swiped his finger a bit on the wall. Huh... So this this red stuff on the walls is blood, not paint. Who would have thought that humans have such a brutal way of decorating their homes... Then again I don´t think I´m in Gaia anymore, this is something else... Those agents back then were talking something about a Purgatory, I guess this is it then. Sakrol then continued his walking around, he could hear footsteps but he wasn´t sure were they were coming from exactly. As Sakrol walked past another door it suddenly slammed open and two dog looking creatures ran from that room and they headed to the other end of the hallway. Sakrol decided to investigate the room were they came from and headed in. The room looked more normal like than the hallway except there were blood splatters on the floor and walls as well as a dead body. The dead body looked like a male covered in blood and had a lot of wounds around it, it seems that he  is holding something. Sakrol went closer and opened it´s hand. Great, a key. I wonder which door this will unlock... Sakrol examined the key more closely, the numbers 312 were carved on it. A room number maybe? Well, I should find the door with this number on it and give it a try. Sakrol put the key into his pocket and continues to investigate the room more. The room doesn´t seem to have any other useful items, Sakrol only finds a huge crack on the bedroom wall that seems to lead into another hallway. Luckily the crack is wide enough for Sakrol to fit through and so he proceeds through it.

Sakrol then starts to look for a door with the same number as the key has, unfortunately the doors in this hallway don´t have numbers and they seem to be made from metal. Sakrol then hears a snarling sound behind him as well as running, he turns around quickly and dodges a leaping attack from the dog like creature. Oh, it´s you... Were did you leave your friend? Or did your friend leave you? The monstrous dog seemed to be alone, it then tried another leaping attack towards Sakrol but misses. Then let us begin, if this is what you really want... Sakrol drew his sword and smiled a bit. The dog ran towards Sakrol and tried to take a hold from his foot but Sakrol quickly slashed his sword and cut the dog´s disgusting long tongue off. The dog backed off a bit as blood started to bleed from it´s mouth, then it tried another charging attack but Sakrol kicked the dog against a wall and cut it´s feet off. The dog was unable to stand anymore, Sakrol looked at the dog as it was trying to stand up before finishing it off with a sword plunge. The dog was now dead and Sakrol sheathed his sword before continuing his search for the door. Strange creatures roam around this place, I wonder where the other dog-monster went... Sakrol walked towards the end of the hallway, there was a door that he was able to open which led to a staircase going up.

OCC: Night, it was something I wrote in a hurry so I wasn´t thinking straight, I´ll fix it.

Night after wondering around entered one of the rooms on the first floor. It seemed rather empty no furniture or anything really. However that made the dead cop laying in the middle of the floor all the more obvious. Nyx could smell the stale blood from him and frowned. She walked over and leaned down examining the body. She noted he had heavy blunt force trauma done to his head. What she did not notice was the monster sneaking up behind her. It's face was somewhat feminine but molted grey. It's skin was grey as well with it wearing a tattered hospital gown stained with blood. It held a rusty pipe in it's right hand raised over head. However no matter how silent it was once within three feet of her Night knew it was there. as the pipe was brought down Night activated her shrouds shield projection. An ethreal pink looking diamond shape shield appeared behind her blocking the strike. However even with it held at bay by her projection she was still at a disadvantage due to her position. She called upon her chaos magic forming a sheathed katana in her left hand. It seemed to almost be made of flames but it was darker somehow with flecks of what could be lightning mixed in. She grasped the handle with her right hand. The next motion would have to be fluid and quick. One mistake and she would end up clubbed by this thing. She pivoted on her right foot spinning and drawing the blade slashing across the demons stomach. The demon staggered back a bit from the blow and Night stood up and hopped back. She wanted some distance as she could tell this creature was a lot more powerful than the strange bats she had fought earlier. She sheathed her katana but with her hand on the hilt at the ready. She grinned baring her fangs eye flashing. She got a view of her opponent noting the thing was six feet tall. She had to wonder if will of the conqueror would be worth the risk of using? If she had had Tomoe or Erick here sure. After all then they could kill the demon. But on her own? This was no subject she was trying to get to behave. This demon was felt almost primal, so was the risk outweigh the use? She could not be sure honestly. She would save it if she really needed the edge in combat. The creature then lunged at her pretty fluid in movement. Also faster than Nyx was. However that was how she was able to judge from her eyes and her minds eye. She ducked as the pipe swung over her head and she thrust the handle of her katana into the creatures gut. She then pushes the blade back into the sheathe and steps back. Then once more she draws it slashing upwards slicing into the creature. However the creature brought it's left fist towards her face. She was to slow to be able to avoid it she could tell that much. So instead she turned with the punch as the fist made contact with her face to reduce the damage. She smiled stepping back once more knowing this would be a good fight. She just hoped that she would not end up dead.

Sakrol proceeded to walk the staircase up to the third floor, there the floor was made from wooden planks that were painted red with blood. The hallway had doors just like the first and second floor but these doors were made from wood instead of metal and they had room numbers on them. Sakrol started walking slowly in the hallway while looking for the door with the numbers 312. Sakrol then stopped in front of a door with the correct numbers and grabbed the key from his pocket that he had found earlier. Let´s see if this key fits into the keyhole, I wonder what secrets it reveals... As Sakrol was holding the key and getting ready to fit it in the keyhole something suddenly jumped towards Sakrol´s hand biting him a little. Sakrol looked at the thing that bit him, it was another one of those dog monsters from before but this one was slightly different. It had purple-tinted fur, longer claws and it was missing eyes and ears. The dog had bitten Sakrol leaving a small bleeding wound on his hand as well as stealing the key from him. Sigh... Anyway I can talk you to return the key to me...? The dog snarled before it turned around and started to run away into the opposite direction with the key in it´s mouth. Sakrol started chasing the dog in the hallway, he was a bit angry. Come back here you waste of rotting flesh and give the key back!!! Sakrol was yelling petty insults to the running dog while chasing it that anyone could probably hear. Sakrol was finally catching up the dog, when he was close enough he made a leap towards the dog. Sakrol captured the dog in his arms while landing on the floor quite hard. The dog tried to escape Sakrol´s grasp but Sakrol then quickly took the key from it´s mouth before standing up and throwing the dog away. The dog then quickly returned to it´s feet and ran away from Sakrol. I think that served you right, keep running or I will get more violent. Sakrol cleansed the key before putting it back into his pocket and then he started walking back to the door.

Sakrol walked back to the correct door and took the key yet again out of his pocket and fitted it inside the keyhole, the door opened. It seems i´m finally making some progress around here... Sakrol entered the room and investigated the place, Sakrol walked to the center of the living room but suddenly the floor collapsed beneath him. Sakrol wasn´t able to react quick enough to jump and grab a hold of something, so he fell somewhere to the first floor while shouting for his life.

The demon lunged at her aiming to bring the pipe down upon her skull. She slashed upwards blocking the attack and a shock of yokai from her projected weapon staggered the demon. The power of a mage knight was as there weapons were projected the power of the weapon was equal to there yokai. The second was how quick they could switch weapons in combat. Her katana vanished as clawed gauntlets of chaos magic formed around her hands and lower arms ending at her elbows. She then dashed forward dragging her right claw across the demons stomach. She also added one of her spells to the attack to increase the damage. From her right claw she fired the spell chaos bomb. The red orb of chaos magic hit at point blank range blasting the demon back with relative ease. However it was not dead yet. Night watched as the wounds she inflicted upon it healed due to it's regeneration. She was not surprised though as this was not the first demon she had ever clashed with. The demon swung the pipe but this time it fired a blast of yokai out. The blast seemed rather slow though to the vampire and she chuckled. With ease she simply turned her body and the blast flew by her. The vampire watched as the demon once more charged and swung and fired yet another blast. She dodge this one as well with relative ease and she was starting to grow bored with the demon. The demon charged her and Night sighed. She ducked the swing of the demons pipe and then did an upper cut with her gauntlets followed by a jab. She then continued with a flurry of claw strikes and grinned as the demon staggered backwards. To finish this fight she grabbed the demon by the face with both claws and would dig the claws in until it disintegrated into the same rust like dust that the bats had. She sighed as the fight had been a bit more than she had expected. Just then a pipe smacked into the back of her head causing her to stagger forward. She turned around just in time to see a second demon that looked much like the one she had just slayed. It swung at her again and she went to block it. However all of a sudden a a person appeared behind the demon. He had long black hair tan skin and brown eyes. He was quite muscular and wore jeans flip flops, a open white trench coat as well as a straw hat. This person grabbed the demon by the head. Some kind of spear appeared below were the mans hand touched and the air seemed to vibrate and the demon disintegrated instantly. The man had a powerful aura, the very air seemed to bend towards him. he also radiated charisma and Night could also tell he was human from his scent to how he felt to her minds eye. However she could also tell he was quite powerful. This was not a person she could beat in her current state. Night then spoke up to the man and asked. Who are you? The man looked at her a smile on his face and he spoke with an ease that did not just seem to fit the current environment. Well is that any way to say hi or thanks for the one who just saved you miss? Night just simply raised her eyebrow at the man and he sighed. My name is Mathew. Now could you share your own name? Night nodded. I am Night. Now may I ask why you are here? I would state it is dangerous but you seem more than able to handle yourself. Mathew seemed to take some time to think and then spoke. Well I can share a bit. It is not like you are much of a threat. Nor for that matter anything in here. I am with a group of people who are a bit curious about Purgatories. This is a man made one, one that resembles a purgatory that appeared some time ago. However any more than that I can not share. Now you stay safe miss. Mathew then seemed to vanish. However Night knew better than that. Now that she could pay attention it was not vanish he was simply moving faster than she could perceive. Night sighed and looked around the room. After a good look around turning up nothing. She sighed and headed out. However she heard some kind of crash from a room nearby. She ran to the room and opened the door. She blinked though when she saw the demon she had helped arrest earlier that night. What are you doing here? she asked wondering just who would show up next in this fun house of an apartment.

Sakrol fell from the third floor through to the second floor were the floor also collapsed into a living room located in the first floor. Luckily Sakrol landed on a huge blue couch which prevented him from getting hurt too badly in the fall. Damn... I´m starting to think this whole building has something against me... Sigh... Then suddenly the room´s front door suddenly opened and a familiar face came in, it was the vampire girl from the group of agents that had arrested him not too long ago. But before Sakrol was able to comment or stand up, the vampire asked him what he was doing here with a slightly surprised expression. Sakrol then slowly stood up and dusted his clothes from the rubble´s dust while answering. I don´t see any reason for me to answer your question, but this is what happens when your boss gives you an order to go somewhere that sounds interesting while in the presence of a curious guy like me. But I´m a bit glad that I found at least someone around here who might know what this is all about, even if it is a blood sucking lady... Sakrol then stopped and looked at the vampire girl.

Night's expression had stayed normal when viewing the demon on the couch. However it soured when he started smarting off to her. She gave him a glare that would make even the bravest though cower in fear when he wrote her off as if she was second rate. She took a deep breathe however calming her nerves as she was mostly just annoyed that he was here. She was within three feet of him so he could get a full read on him. Sadly he was rather over all lacking and not very impressive. She sighed and took a few steps and finall spoke. You may want to be careful how speak in front of the blood sucking lady. She may just decide someone as weak as you may be a meal. As for what is going on. It is rather simple maybe even one such as you could understand. This place is basically an area were Otherworld and Gaia have merged. She stated as she tapped her echo communicator to activate it. All Sakrol would see was a holographic square appear in front of Nights right eye. This is Agent Tepes reporting in. The demon we arrested earlier tonight for not being registered is sitting here in front of me. Night then heard a sigh on the other end and it seemed that Erick had picked up. We read you agent Tepes. Your mission goal of resolving the Purgatory will be set on the back burner. As since the demon. there was a brief pause. Ah there we go. The demon Sakrol is now registered he is a citizen of the world government. As he is in a dangerous area you an agent of MIRA must protect him and get him out. Though it is sad as it ruins a rare oppurtunity. Since there is no guarantee that you or another agent will be able to re enter. With that the echo cut out and the hologram vanished. Night sighed and looked at the demon annoyed. Well it seems my mission has been changed to baby sitting you. She sighed shaking her head annoyed. This had so much promise of being fun yet now, well not so much. Come on lets see if we have you walk out the front door if you will exit this purgatory.

Sakrol didn´t like how the vampire girl glared at him, it felt like she was holding a sharp knife on his throat. With this Sakrol felt really uncomfortable around her because she was obviously more stronger and experienced than him. But the vampire girl then stopped her intimidating glare while taking a deep breath before speaking. She told Sakrol what Purgatories are in a basic level before contacting her team. She then got new orders to escort Sakrol out of the Purgatory, but Sakrol still wanted to state his opinion. Babysitting me you say? Sorry but I don´t feel like going anywhere... I think this place is perfect for my training, a lot of foes to take on and so forth. I don´t exactly know what you are suppose to accomplish here but I´m pretty sure it doesn´t concern me at all... Sakrol then draws his sword out in a slowly way and holds it next to him. Okay now, maybe you would like to tell me your name? I didn´t quite catch it earlier... Sakrol was now just standing while holding his sword and looking at the vampire girl for an answer.

Night chuckled at the demons response. She could not help it. She did not care about his training and what he want did not really matter as last she knew MIRA was basically police/military of the world government. When the demon drew his sword she honestly laughed finding it very entertaining. Though not at all intimidating. Then he demanded to know her name and she shook her head as he was sure making quite a bit of them. Sorry if I was told I need to get you out of this place then that is what I shall do. Plus I do not think you can disagree as I work for the world government. So if I am removing you there is a reason. Also last I checked that registration contract you signed states something along the lines that you will follow the laws of this world? Then if laws are not followed your a criminal and I think you remember what happens then yes? As for my name is it not quite rude to ask a lady her name without giving yours in return? After all that is only the polite thing to do. She stated all of this calmly with an entertained smile on her face. This smile of course showed her fangs. She made no move however to make or get a weapon. She did not project one as she saw little reason to do so.

Sakrol was quite annoyed at the vampire girl because she just laughed at him and didn´t take him seriously at all, he felt like he wanted to attack her in rage. Sakrol calmed himself because he knew that attacking her relentlessly would be a death sentence. He then gave his answer to the vampire girl. Well, I understand that you are just doing your job but technically this place isn´t Gaia, I mean that this is Purgatory right? We are not "fully" in Gaia, do the laws of Gaia really reach Purgatory? When I read the registration format, I´m pretty sure it never mentioned that the laws reach Purgatory at all. It actually never mentioned Purgatories at all so... I´m free to do as I please in here? And I´ll tell you my name in hopes that you will tell me yours... I´m Sakrol Leviathan, just call me Sakrol. What do people call you...? Sakrol cracked a small smile while asking the vampire girls name.

Night continued to laugh. You did not listen to what I said what a purgatory is? It is both Gaia and otherworld. And as a World Government representative, the laws still are in place even if this part of Gaia is currently altered. As since you shared your name though I will give mine. I am Night Tepes. Now to be honest I really do not want to baby sit you. However I still have orders and i would like to not have to worry about escorting you. i would much rather continue my exploration and even possibly resolve this purgatory. Before any other MIRA members enter. So I am no more please as you little demon. She said with a sigh. She then turned to leave the room. Well come on lets see if pushing you out the front door gets you out. If not well i can claim I tried and am out of ideas. I mean I may be old but this is still rather new to me. She finished with a light chuckle. Which may be why I find it so much fun.

Sakrol did not like the things Night told to him, he sighed and then spoke. Whatever you say, ummm... Night was it...? It´s clear to me that Gaia has some awful rules, oh well... I guess I´ll go with you on this for now, but don´t call me a "little demon" or are you trying to taunt me? Sakrol sheathed his sword and took a few steps closer to Night. So, let´s be on our way then, you can´t keep your boss waiting forever for you to accomplish your job... Oh and a few questions, you don´t have to answer if you don´t want to but... How old are you for real? And how did you end up with MIRA anyway? Sakrol wasn´t really waiting for Night to answer because of the nature of the questions, he was simply trying his luck. Sakrol was now waiting for Night to lead him out of the Purgatory with an indifferent expression, he was also hoping that something would go horribly wrong and that he could continue his training in the Purgatory without the MIRA agents interference.

Night rolled her eyes at the comment of the rules. Yes, laws to keep civilians safe. Keep them out of dangerous areas and such. I mean gee it must be so horrible to not be allowed in a possible death trap. She did not appreciate the demon coming closer to her though. As for the little demon comment. Take it however you want. She said with a shrug. However the demon continued with his questions. While he asked she would go out of the room and head down the hallway. She would make sure that Sakrol was following. While walking through what may be blood encrusted hall ways and rusted floors. She would reply to his last question while heading towards the destination of the front lobby. Well I do not know about the otherworld. But Gaia here it is considered rather rude to ask a lady her age. I shall say I have plenty of life experience, but that is all. As for ending up with MIRA well I decided to sleep for a while. I woke up registered as I found out about the law. Ran into a friend and decided to work for MIRA. Nothing more to it really. They would reach the front lobby. Night would then go to open the front doors yet they would not budge. She frowned at this turn of events. Maybe it was locked? She pulled out her skeleton key to unlock the door. She stuck it in and turned. She then went to open yet the doors still would not budge. That meant it was sealed. She wondered now what it was she would do. However she would have little time to think on it as a the air in the room seemed to become thicker. A black portal like thing formed in the center of the rooms floor. Out of it crawled what Night would guess was a specter or wraith as it's form seemed blurred. It had pale dead skin black short hair, black shirt jeans and sneakers all gritty like a bad film grain. After crawling out it began floating and moving towards Sakrol. Night could feel her stamina starting to be sapped. She knew this ability, a passive and a lethal one. Careful this specter has aura of death. As she said this an ethreal blue rapier would form in her right hand as she called forth her void magic. She raised up her rapier figuring it would be better to get the specter attention as she was suppose to make sure Sakrol got out safely. She dashed and lunged at the specter stabbing it but not really dealing much damage. She knew this even with her weapons being magical projections. All specters wraiths and other such monsters had an ethreal body. any and all physical damage they would do would be reduced by half. The specter went to back hand her and she ducked seeing it coming with her minds eye. She then backed off having the specter attention. That is right all attention on me.

Sakrol followed Night along the hallway, during the walking Night answered the few questions that he had asked. But after her answers Sakrol remained quiet when they reached the lobby. Sakrol watched as Night tried to open the door, she even had a Skeleton Key with her but the door didn´t open. Sakrol smiled a bit at during the procedure until a strange black portal like thing appeared on the center of the lobby and a Specter crawled out of it. It started floating towards him and it didn´t look friendly, but then Sakrol could feel slight pain as it approached. Night knew what it was and warned him about it´s deadly aura while forming a weapon on her hand and then attacking the Specter, Night took the Specter´s attention in purpose. Sakrol moved himself quickly away from the reach of the Specter´s aura, but he didn´t go too far because he didn´t see any reason to just leave from a tough fight. This is what I call bad luck, a ghost attacking us with an annoying ability... Just great... I don´t understand why you would take the ghost-guy´s attention on purpose, Night. But count me in! Sakrol drew his sword out with a smile and moved quickly to the Specter making two quick slashes to the Specter´s backside and then quickly moving away from it because of the painful aura. The Specter only stopped for a short amount of time after Sakrol´s attack but then continued floating towards Night. Hmph... This one sure is a tough one and annoying...

Night winced a bit but not to worried about the aura yet. The specter lunged aiming to shove it's hand through her. She smiled and disolved into a black mist. She easily passed through the ghost suffering no damage in this form. She solidified behind it and pivoted slashing it's back with her void rapier and then hoping back forseeing its counter attack swinging it's arms at her. Night smiled though still wincing a bit. The Aura of death was no easy ability to deal with. She decided she would try an ability she had once obtained in a time oft forgotten. An orange aura would surround her and anyone viewing her would see her form flicker to her actual form and the form they most feared. She could feel her power increase with the aura and she raised her left hand and fired her void lightning spell at the specter. The spell hit and sent back into the wall moving both her and Sakrol for the time outside of it's death aura. You asked why I took it's attention. She said replying to what the demon had said earlier and she shook her head laughing lightly. I am an agent of MIRA. My job is to get you out safely and no offense at the moment this specter is stronger than you. So I will try to keep it's attention on me so as to keep you as safe as I can. She finished watching the specter rise up and charge. Night saw it and an orange flash fired form her eyes. This would slow it down a bit and she would push Sakrol out of the way as the specter threw a punch. Her perception was much greater and it seemed very slow to her. Plus now she could tell she was faster than it for now. She moved her head out of the way as it's fist flew by and she attacked as well stabbing it. It's ethreal body still reduced the phsyical damage but her spell earlier had done the full amount. The specter did not stagger though and went to strangle her. Night jumped back however as she saw it coming thanks to her minds eye. She then lunged and struck it with another blow taking advantage of her current speed over it. She then pivoted out of the way of a another swing of its fist while also slashing it. However she could still feel the aura of death draining her stamina slowly. The specter than went to full on tackle her. However she jumped and then her yokai formed black draconic wings as she flapped them for a double jump to greatly increase her height in the air. Keeping the wings extended she glided backwards getting out of the aura's range. She landed and the wings vanished. The Specters full attention was now on her though. She had made herself the much obvious bigger threat.

Sakrol watched as Night continued fighting the Specter, Night used many interesting abilities during the fight like turning into black mist and going through the Specter with no harm. Sakrol noticed how Night was smiling during the fight, it was clear that she was having fun. Night was then covered in an orange aura and she then finally attacked the Specter with a spell that made the Specter fly back at a wall. Sakrol was quite impressed at Night´s fighting skills, he decided to keep his distance at the Specter for now due to it being stronger than him. Night then replied to Sakrol´s earlier comment with a light laugh and the reason why she tries so hard to keep him safe. Before Sakrol could say anything else to Night, she then attacked the Specter with an orange flash which made it slower and then Night suddenly pushed Sakrol back so that he wouldn´t be on the way. Woah! Dammit Night! How about a warning first before you do that!? Sakrol shouted at Night while she was battling the Specter. Sakrol then continued to watch the battle in front of him as Night seemed to have the upper-hand right now. Hmph... Being utterly useless around here sure is frustrating... Tell me when your done with that undead sheet! I´m gonna sit here and watch the show... Sakrol sheathed his sword and sat down on the floor watching as the two continued to fight.

Night circled it slowly. The rapier was good for speedy strikes but she needed to end this quickly. She needed a weapon with power. However she needed to get in fast so she could change weapons but she figured waiting would be good. The orange aura of her pumpkin king aura flickered around her still active. She then dashed in a bit faster before than she had. She felt more powerful and she felt her true form once more obtainable. She plunged the blade of her rapier into the ethreal body of the specter still dealing reduced damage. She needed to re obtain spirit body to deal full damage. The Specter grabbed her neck then while she was briefly distracted. Both of it's hands felt like they were burning her flesh as it attempted to strangle her. She let out a weak chuckle though as she switched her void weapons. The rapier would change into a much larger weapon all while still impaling the specter. The blade grew wider thicker, the hand guard vanishing and the hilt extending to be held by two hands as a second blade came off the end. Know using her double bladed ethreal sword the blade having expanded inside the specter would cause extra damage. This caused it's grip to loosen a bit and she then slammed her head into it's own. It's grip fell and she fully gripped her weapon and spun it slashing it out. The only good thing about monsters with ethreal body was that there bodies could easily have edged and pointy weapons go in and out with little resistance unlike flesh and blood. As she spun it the second blade slashed it's face and she continued the movements into another stab spinning it into an upward slash. She would then pivot and stab and spin again and keep up the flurry finishing the specter off. It fell to the floor it's body seeming to dissolve into a rust cloud that faded away. She gave a sigh of relief as the hand prints would slowly vanish from her neck. Her weapon vanished and she sat down with a light smile on her face. Hope you do not mind if we take a quick breather now. I need to recover a bit from that still rather rusty. If that had been me before I slept my void lightning would have finished it in one shot. She said with a light chuckle as the orange aura vanished from around her as well. Well anyway since you went and asked twenty questions it is my turn. I am sure by now my class and job are obvious to you after this battle. So what are you? I am guessing warrior class but jobs are a bit harder to guess less you see the person in combat. Though even then one can not be certain less they use the skill that marks that job. Also your a demon so I assume since you were not registered you lived in otherworld till recently. So if right why did you leave? What brought you to Gaia. I would ask of your magics but that is even ruder than asking a lady her age, so instead why such reckless abode. The smart ass comments I know and am use to from your kind. Yet not to often contrary to popular belief do you meet a reckless demon. Most times demons are a bit smarter about approaching situations like these yet you seem not to care. You od not seem to care that you risk death coming here. But maybe I am overthinking things as I hear otherworld is dog eat dog. She said the last sentence with a chuckle.

Sakrol continued watching how Night fought against the Specter, she was doing really good until she was briefly distracted and the Specter took a hold of her neck. Sakrol didn´t interfere because he was quite sure that Night probably had a plan against the Specter. Night succeeded killing the Specter and she then sat on the floor and wanted to take a breather. Sakrol was sitting as well at the moment when Night decided to ask a few questions from Sakrol. Sakrol looked at Night indifferently and answered calmly. Hmph… Since you asked so “nicely” I guess I´ll answer… From the way how you fought that Specter I´m going to wager you belong to Mystic class and your job is a Mage Knight. Me? Well… I do belong to Warrior class and my job is simply a Knight. I came to Gaia from my homeland to train, learn new skills and see what kinda excitement this place has to offer, I´ve only heard rumors of Gaia from demons that had visited there you know? And my reckless behavior? I´m not a coward and I enjoy fights, no matter who is against me but I´m still not stupid. I could have attacked you earlier but I knew that doing that would probably be a death sentence and I did keep my distance from the Specter since it was way stronger than I was… And your right about the Otherworld, we do kill each other… No matter if we are the same species, classes, cousins, parents or even siblings. Sakrol then paused for a moment before continuing with a question. Was that all you wanted to know? Can we move on now or do you still need time to gather your strenght? Don´t worry, I´ll wait if you still need some time...

As Sakrol would answer her questions Night would pull out some chalk and start drawing a circle with ruins. Anyone with a decent concept of magic would recognize it as one of the many for conjuring ones familiar. Night would make a comment to Sakrol as she continued to make the circle about her class. That is correct. A class is easily to tell when there ability is used. Since we mage knights often if not always use our ability in combat it is generally a dead give away. She stated simply as if giving a lesson to a child. She chuckled at the comment of him not being reckless as he was not a coward. Some demons were cowards, some reckless, but many were smart. She had not accused him of cowardice, but he was rather rash jumping into a situation he had little grasp on. She would not voice any of this out loud though. He apparently was under the impression she thought of him as an idiot as well. This was not the case either she simply thought of him as a rash and annoying demon and very child like in manor. Almost like a newborn babe fumbling through things it knew nothing of. Though she herself knew little of this purgatory she had some info to go and judge off of. She finished the circle and pocketed the chalk. The circle was only a little bigger than if she had put her hands side by side, however the ruins going along the circumference. With her fangs she then made a incision upon her left wrist and squeezed out blood upon the white lines and inside the circle. She then let her wound seal shut and she knelt down and placed both her hands on the ground, her fingertips touching the outer line of the circle. A dark purple aura then surrounded Night as she poured some of her yokai into the circle. she could remember the first time she had done this when she was younger. She had been excited to find out what her familiar would be. Now she knew though but she was looking forward to seeing Celena again though. The circle glowed with her yokai and then a anti flash occurred. Her blood was gone the circle smudge and in the center sat a nine tailed fox. No larger than a house cat with white fur with dark purple marking upon it's fur as well as the tips of it's tails being dark purple. The fox opened it's eyes and they were ice blue. Night smiled and extended her arm and Celena crawled up it and to her shoulder. The fox would nuzzle Night's cheek lightly and Night stroked a finger along it's back. The fox then sort of draped itself along her shoulders behind her neck. "Hello Celena, it is good to see you again." Night said to her familiar through there mental bond. "It is good to see you as well Lady Night. I was starting to fear I would never be summoned again. "No silly I apologize for my long slumber. I am rather rusty as well so I was not able to summon you when I first awoke." The made a sighing noise and Night chuckled. "Well I am here now and now is what matters. But were is now and what is this dingy place my lady?" Night would then start to share her memories with Celena to catch the fox up. Night would then turn to Sakrol and say simply. Yes we may be going now. As she would start walking she noticed something were the specter had been. She walked over and picked up a red slip of paper. It looked rather worn out and old. Upon it read. "Lately I've been feeling like my life is in serious danger. I've been through a lot in my life, but I've never felt this kind of pure, animal fear. In case something happens to me, I've decided to write down what I've learned for whoever you are that's living in the apartment now, apartment 302. I've been investigating the mass murder that took place 7 years ago in which 10 people were killed in 10 ten days. They were killed in a variety of ways, but the one thing they had in common was that each corpse had the following numbers, in order of their deaths, carved into them:01121, 02121, 03121, 04121, 05121, 06121, 07121, 08121, 09121, 10121 ... The name of their killer... it was carved in as well... His name was...Walter Sullivan. April 4" Night re read this pondering the note. It was rather old from the feel smell texture and all. However maybe it could still hold relevance to the current case? Night activated her echo communicator. Hey Eric do you read me? She waited for a few seconds before getting a response. Yes Agent Tepes, what is it? Well first I can not find a way out. I have tried but I can not find an exit, I think the purgatory must be resolved to exit so I can not evacuate the civilian at the moment. However I think I may just have stumbled upon something. Can you look up a name. Walter Sullivan? She would await a response. Eric replied shortly though. Ok I pulled up some old police records and it seems he was arrested for ten murder's. He then later commited suicide in his own jail cell. Both he when he died and his victims had numbers carved into them. Hmm that is odd. There were recent murders were victims also had numbers carved into them. The police were calling it a copy cat yet no evidence was ever found with the bodies. I wonder why they never contacted MIRA? Night noticed Eric sounded confused an more as if he was talking to himself. I think he is connected with the purgatory Eric. At leats now I do. Anything else that stands out? Eric replied. Yes two rather large things. When he was a kid he lived in a orphanage that was just outside of Silent Hill. Then second, when he was arrested for the killing, he lived in these apartments. So you think he is behind this somehow? Night nodded but realized Eric could not see. With that last tid bits, I do. Looking at it, he murdered ten people with a rather blatant mo. Now people start dieing again recently and then a purgatory crops up. This purgatory is not only in the apartment building were he lived, but also has the same mana readings as the one that overcame his hometown. Sorry but I do not believe in coincidences. I think i may know were he is in here, and I think if I bring him down I can resolve the purgatory which will let me get demon boy here out. There was a pause again and then came a question. Ok but how can you be so sure when Walter committed suicide and reports say he is dead? Night laughed at this. Since when has being dead in this world ever meant one can not continue on with there work? From vampires, demons and angels. You act as if there is no life after death, ironic coming from an angel. With that she hung up. She looked at Sakrol and said. Come were off to the third floor. This may just be fun. With that Night left the lobby and started heading up the stairs.

Sakrol looked at Night as she drew the circle and did the ritual to summon a familiar, he knew about the existence of familiars but he has never attempted to summon one for himself nor has he ever seen anyone do it. It was Sakrol´s first time witnessing the summoning of a familiar as Night continued the ritual by pouring her magic into the circle, Sakrol watched closely. Night´s summon was a success and a nine tailed fox had appeared in front of Night. A fox...? Sakrol commented as Night extended her arm at the familiar and it crawled up to Night´s shoulder. There was a moment of silence as Night communicated with her familiar through telepathy, Sakrol silently observed the two. Night then looked at Sakrol and told him that they could now proceed. Sakrol stood up as Night walked to the point were the Specter had been and picked up a curious looking slit of red paper and she read it to herself. Night then suddenly decided to contact the angel-guy. As she was talking with him, Sakrol leaned towards a wall and he was bored. After the conversation Night once again looked at Sakrol and told him that they were going to the third floor now. She then started heading towards the stairs and Sakrol followed her. Fun huh? I sure hope it will be... So Night, care to fill me in what´s the big deal here? What are you MIRA agents trying to accomplish here? And just for the record, where are we heading now? I think I have every right to know since I´m just as much in this mess as you are and by mess I mean this Purgatory. Sakrol spoke this to Night with a serious sounding tone. Though Sakrol had a positive feel that they would soon stumble upon an exciting fight.

Night had ignored the comment about her familiar. First her familiar was actually a celestial fox, a difference she had been taught by Celena. Second It should not matter to Sakrol as Celena was her familiar. She would continue up the stairs as she heard Sakrol's questions. She laughed a bit as he demanded information. She could not help it but she still found him annoying by the demands as well. However she was perplexed by the question as to why MIRA was here. She had told him once already. I do not know what you asking is a big deal demon. As for what MIRA is here for I have already said. We are here to resolve the purgatory. Or in other words bring it to an end and restore the intersection of worlds to normal. We do not want another Silent Hill, and form what I have heard I can not blame anyone for that. Now as for the demand of information you really can demand all you want. That does not guarantee you will get it. But I will give you a hint as to why we are headed to the third floor. You see there is an apartment I want to check out. With those words Night would toss him the red slip of paper for the demon to read.

Sakrol grabbed the red slip of paper and read it to himself while still following Night. He was also still a little pissed at Night´s attitude against him, she would treat him like a child at some points which he found quite annoying. Sakrol would try to hide this fact but he could not stop himself for glaring at Night with a mildly angry expression every time she would laugh at his comments. Instead of complaining or giving Night a smartass response, Sakrol talked to Night calmly because he didn´t want to get to her bad side though he had a feeling that he was already halfway there... So, we are going to room 302? And you as an agent of MIRA are trying to get rid of this Purgatory for good so that it won´t be a thread to the society? Well, atleast you didn´t change your reason for being here from the first time I asked... Do you want this piece of paper back or can I throw it away...? It seems like a piece of evidence or something. I do have to admit that I still don´t quite understand why you people would risk your own lives for others, in the Otherworld most of us only take care of themselves unless the strongest of us might ”hire” bodyguards to fight for them. Then again I really don´t care about your philosophy or your way of thinking... Sakrol found it a bit confusing why did Night keep him safe during the fight with the Specter, she did explain it was her job as an agent of MIRA but he still couldn´t get it. She could easily ditch him but she would not do so, clearly Night didn´t like him and Sakrol didn´t like her so why stay together? Sakrol had a thought that maybe she followed the angel-guy´s orders because she was afraid of him and a possible punishment for not following orders but then again Sakrol didn´t see Night as a person that would be afraid of something like that... Sakrol was lost in thought for a moment when he then wanted to ask a simple question about the situation at hand. Are we there yet?

Night nodded at Sakrol's first question. She could see him glaring daggers of death at her but she had suffered much worse in her time. She cared little of the demons opinion but did find him rather annoying. Yes I believe we shall possibly find some answers in that apartment. She stated simply starting to grow excited, just as any predator would when the closed in on there prey. However Sakrol continued to talk. He seemed to have been testing or judging if her answer would change from the first time he asked. Maybe he thought she had lied at the start? She could not be sure but she really did not care so she did not cut in. When he asked about the paper she nodded. She would simply reach and grab it tucking it into the pockets of her immortal shroud. When Sakrol continued saying he did not understand one who wanted to protect others she nodded as he voiced his reason. I am not surprised. From the tails I have heard of otherworld it seems to almost always be in a state of constant anarchy. With no single ruling entity I can imagine that morales would be of little concerned. But to answer everyone always has a different reason to risk there lives for something. Whether it is the lives of others or an item, well it can actually be just about anything. But no one has the same reason. I am sure some have joined MIRA to be heroes, or at least what they think of as a hero. Others since the director made a comment that sometimes they hire criminals probably just do it to save there own skin rather than be slain or locked up. Some may simply see it as a way to get stronger, or others simply a way to feel good about themselves. My own personal reason I will go ahead and gander you will ask. Well there are two reasons. One I slept for about or more than fifty years. The world has vastly changed while I slept and it was a world I helped established. I want to see just what has become of it. The other is always a rather simple drive for me and that is adventure. Like all of this is one whole adventure for me. A form of entertainment, and it gives me prey and opponents to face off against as well since I have grown rather rusty from my slumber. All the while during the conversation Night would continue to lead Sakrol up stairs. Once they got to the third floor she would look at the room numbers. However she had to admit to herself that she found it rather odd how so far they had not run into any more enemies. She had to wonder if the man in the straw hat had anything to do with it? She could not be sure. However as Sakrol asked if they were there yet she nodded. Yes we just arrived. What really stood out about the room however was that both the door and the hallway around the door were well normal. The rusty blood like substance gave way to hard floor and white walls. The door was white and had the number 302 upon it. Night went to turn the handle and the door was locked. She was not surprised by this in the least. She pulled out her skeleton key and slid it into the lock. She turned the key and this time unlock the last the sound of locks could be hear unlocking. However what she found odd was that it was multiple locks. She also noticed the sounds of chains falling to the floor as well as detected such through her minds eye. She then pushed the door open and walked into the apartment room. While walking in she could have sworn she saw the straw hat man for a second slaying another specter but in a blink all she saw was a specter dissolving into the rust like substance as the one she had slain in the lobby with the man no were to be seen. The apartment was rather small with living room and kitchen combined. A door was close to the front and she noted multiple chains on the floor with locks well unlocked. What she also noticed was the apartment was brown and dark red much darker than the rest of the building had been. The air was also much thicker closer to a miasma. Night looked down and saw a hallway that seemed to lead to two room as well. The living room had a tv couch in table and book case as well as windows. Night went and tried opening a window but it did not budge. she was sure as well that if she tried she would find the glass probably would not break either. Well I will have to say I think I am right. No I am sure this is the epicenter of the purgatory, or at least the key to it. Now we just need to find who or what caused it. She said with a smile that showed her fangs.
